Box Girder Gantry Crane
10t Goliath Gantry Crane
A 10 t Goliath gantry crane with a 26 m span and 10 m lift height, travelling on rails at ground level instead of on runway beams. With an A-frame leg at each end, it needs no building structure along the travel, which is what makes it suitable for outdoor yards and storage areas.
Because the load goes into the track rather than into columns, the rail foundation and the yard bearing capacity are part of the project. At a 26 m span the crane is normally travelling heavier or longer loads than a workshop gantry, so span, wheel loads and rail gauge are agreed together.
- Confirm at order: span and rail gauge, lift height, wheel loads and the capacity of the existing track foundation, plus the storm and out-of-service wind case if the crane stays outdoors.
- Also agree: duty class, hoisting and travel speeds, control position, and the power supply arrangement along the track.

All FAQs›Do I need a concrete foundation for the gantry rail?
The rail has to transfer the wheel loads into the ground, so either an existing track with sufficient bearing capacity or a new foundation is needed. Send the wheel loads and the ground or existing track condition, and the foundation becomes part of the quotation rather than a site surprise.
›How is an outdoor gantry crane rated for wind?
The crane is designed to an agreed in-service and out-of-service wind condition for your site, and the anchoring or rail clamp arrangement follows from it. Wind exposure is a design input, so tell us the location and whether the crane stays outside permanently.
