Double Girder Overhead Crane
30t Double Girder Overhead Crane
A 30 t double girder overhead crane with a 28 m span and 12 m lift height, for heavy bays handling billets, slabs, machine assemblies or large fabricated structures. Two main girders carry an inter-girder trolley, so the hook can be raised close to the girder line and the structure stays stiff over a long span.
At this capacity the runway load and the wheel base stop being details: the crane and the building have to be designed together. Where the crane handles hot or heavy product continuously, the duty class follows from the cycle count rather than from the weight alone.
- Confirm at order: span measured between the actual rails, lift height, duty class, hoisting and travel speeds, and the working position of the control.
- Also agree: heat or dust exposure at the bridge, enclosure and paint specification, and the documentation and test certificate required.

All FAQs›When should I choose a double girder crane over a single girder?
Choose double girder when headroom is tight, lift height is large, the span is long or the duty class is heavy. It also gives you a platform for the trolley and panel. Below roughly 20 m span at light to medium duty, a single girder crane is usually the more economical machine.
›Can I fit a double girder crane into an existing building?
Yes, but the check is on the runway and the columns, not only on the crane. Send the bay drawing with column spacing, rail level and clear height, and we will confirm the span, the wheel loads and whether a walkway will fit above the load path.
