Single Girder Overhead Crane

3t Single Girder Overhead Crane

A 3 t single girder overhead crane for workshops, machinery manufacturing, warehouses and steel fabrication. The hoist runs under a single main girder, which keeps the crane and the runway light — the usual choice where the span is moderate and the duty is general workshop lifting.

The standard series supplies spans from 7.5 m to 22.5 m and lift heights from 6 m to 18 m; the catalogue values are a reference configuration and the values that can be built follow from the runway drawing. Hook approach is limited by the hoist envelope, so check how close the hook has to travel to the end of the bay.

  • Confirm at order: span between the actual rails, lift height to the hook, duty class, control type and power supply.
  • Also agree: hook approach at each end of the bay and the clear height available above the rail.

Applications

All applications
›How close to the end of the bay can the hook travel?

On a single girder crane the hook approach is limited by the hoist envelope under the girder and by the end carriage. Tell us the approach you need at each end and we will confirm it against the hoist arrangement, rather than assuming the standard figure applies.

›What span limit should I expect for a single girder crane?

Single girder cranes are normally the economical answer up to about 20 m. Beyond that the girder depth needed for stiffness reduces the advantage, and a double girder crane usually gives a better result for the same building.
